Thanksgiving Dinner is one of my favorite meals of the year. What does it include?
Roasted Turkey - simply and plainly, in the oven. Gravy made grandma's way with a mixture of water and flour whisked into the drippings of the turkey.
Mashed Potatoes - Check out mashed potatoes under the Sides.
Green Bean Casserole - just follow the recipe on the can of Campbell's Mushroom soup. Make it more simply by using canned green beans!
Creamed Corn - Sides and then veggies.
Sweet Potatoes - Under Sides, too.
Stuffing - my favorite store-bought flavor is actually Stove Top! It's well seasoned and flavorful. Make it on the stove and serve alongside your turkey.
Fresh Bread - May favorite rolls are made by Bridgeford and found the in freezer section at Vons. Choose the Parkerhouse for the best flavor. Serve with butter and homemade jam. Oh yum!
Cranberry Sauce is a must - jellied is my favorite. My grandma opened both ends of the can and slid it out whole and then sliced it in half lengthwise followed by 1/2" slices across the "circle." Super delicious on leftover turkey sandwiches!
Top this off with Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie and Pumpkin Cookies with Maple Frosting or try something new and serve Pumpkin Cake. You'll find the recipe under Sweets then Pumpkin.
Happy Thanksgiving!
